thanks to the federal income tax return, state income tax return, 2007-08 FAFSA for me, 2007-08 FAFSA for Scott, 2008-09 FAFSA for me, and 2008-09 FAFSA for Scott that I just finished filling out. Good grief. I think I remember one reason why I became an English teaching major: sometimes I just hate numbers. We just don't get along, numbers and I. I think I did everything mostly right, but I may have screwed up part of the income info on my 07-08 FAFSA. Hard to tell. (The trickiest part of this whole business was trying to figure out where I counted as a single person and where I counted as a married person for 2006. Mostly I was single, but for income stuff they made Scott and me combine both of our incomes as if we were married. Oh, the adding...)
Anyway, it's done now. Let's just hope we don't get audited, because while I'm perfectly confident in the honesty of my intentions, I'm not at all confident in my ability to do simple math. The taxes I'm not too worried about (they were actually easier to understand than the FAFSA business). But I've heard that about one in three FAFSAs are audited (or "verified"), which means that there's a better than 100% chance one of our four will be put up for review...
...right? Oh, dear. No more math.
