Miscellanies

Good gravy. Blogger must be having a bad day, because I'm having serious title trouble. First I couldn't get the blog title itself to appear on the blog; now it won't let me title this post (the title field is gone, no matter how much I refresh the page). Alas. It's never given me this much trouble before--maybe the system's just having some hiccups at the moment.

In any case, I don't have much to report or post, other than the idea that if you Google "teacher resume" you can get a lot of really awesome advice on how to prep your resume for teaching jobs (and some great buzzwords to use, if nothing else). I've got this on my mind because BYU's teacher recruitment fair is coming up next week, and I've got to get my resume revamped (I haven't touched it for more than a year).

Let's see...anything else of note? Here's one to keep in mind. NCTE publishes aweekly newsletter (via email) about issues relating to English teaching from across the country (and across the world). In conjunction with the newsletter is a blog, also updated weekly, that discusses some of these issues more in-depth. Traci Gardner (pictured) is the editor for now, and she's always got a lot of great insights.
