- Get yourself onto I-15.
- Take I-15 to Scipio (exit 188). Turn east after the exit (left if you're coming from the north). Try not to buy gas in Scipio; it is usually pretty pricey.
- Follow the main road through Scipio (follow signs to Richfield). It will dump you onto Highway 50.
- Drive along Highway 50 for about 25 miles. Appreciate the waterless Lake Scipio along the way. Watch for deer and cows in the road.
- Watch for signs to Aurora. You need to turn right onto Highway 256 going towards Aurora, Sigurd, and Richfield. The sign for the turn is pretty obvious--just don't forget to watch for it. (If you miss the turn and end up in Salina, just get on 1-70 until you get to Richfield.)
- Follow Highway 256 for about 3 miles. Roll up the windows and turn the air to recirculate as soon as you turn--there's a super duper stinky nasty feed lot coming up on the right. Also, watch for the goat that lives in Aurora: he's usually grazing on a grassy hill just after the city park on the left side of the road, chained to a rusty engine.
- As you reach the end of Aurora and the speed limit goes back up from 35, you will come to a fork in the road. Take the RIGHT fork. (If you miss it & turn left, just follow signs to Richfield.)
- Follow this road for a couple of miles until you see an I-70 onramp. Appreciate the billowing corn fields and rolling junkyards. Get on I-70 heading west.
- Follow I-70 for about 9 miles. You'll know you're getting close when the hotel billboards start to multiply.
- Take exit 40 to Richfield (the first Richfield exit). Turn left after the offramp. If you need to get gas, get it at Flying J (right after the exit)--it's usually the cheapest in town.
- The road you are now driving on is Main Street. Watch speed limit signs carefully: the cops are quite ticket-happy. (It starts out 45 MPH and then changes to 30 after Lin's Market.)
- Follow Main Street through 2 or 3 stoplights until you get to 100 South. Turn right. Watch for cats & kids in the road.
- Follow 100 South until you get to 300 West. Turn left.
- Our house is at 140 South; it's the south side of a red brick duplex. Look for the bikes chained up out front and the dying basil plants.
